2012 IRISH TEAM SELECTION PROCESS

EUROJUNIORS 2012, LACANAU, FRANCE
Eurojuniors 2012 will take place in Lacanau from the 8th to the 16th September.
The Irish Junior Surf Team to attend this event will be selected from best two results of three events, the C-Skins West Coast Junior Surfing Championships taking place in Lahinch on the 24/25 March, an ISA selection event (to replace the cancelled Tramore Juniors) on the 5/6 July in Bundoran and the Bundoran Board Riders Junior contest on the 7/8 July in Bundoran.

In the event of unsuitable conditions (no surf or storm conditions) in Lahinch, Tramore or Bundoran, an ISA selection event may be run on the scheduled weekend or another weekend. In the event of a tie for any team position a surf-off will be held by the ISA.

As per child protection guidelines, juniors may only compete within their age category in one discipline. Junior surfers may compete on the senior tour but will not be eligible for selection to senior Irish Surf Teams. Surfers U12 will not be considered for selection to international teams.

WORLD SURFING GAMES 2012

There will not be a World Surfing Games in 2012. The International Surfing Association has confirmed that the World Surfing Games will revert back to being hosted bi-annually. The next World Surfing Games will take place in 2013. The 2012 Tour will still be used for selection for any other World surfing events (World Bodyboard, SUP, Masters etc) scheduled in 2012, or early 2013.
