The Irish Surfing Association is committed to the National Anti Doping Program, established by the Irish Sports Council over a decade ago to combat doping in sport in Ireland. The program aims to ensure athletes participate in an environment that promotes the spirit of sport and is drug free. The National Anti Doping Program is compliant with the World Anti Doping Association (WADA) Code.
The Irish Anti Doping Unit regularly tests surfers at our contests. If you are a competitive surfer you need to know that you can be tested when you take part in a surfing contest. It is important to make yourself familiar with the rules (Irish Anti Doping Rulesand World Anti Doping Code) and procedures (What happens in a drug test). You also need to be aware of the substances that are on the Prohitied List, How to check your medicines, Respiratory & Asthma Medications, Supplements & Sports Food Policyand the Dangers Of Doping and Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) Policy
Real Winner -Real Winner is an interactive e-learning education programme about anti-doping covering topics such as Doping Control Procedures, the WADA Prohibited List, whereabouts, therapeutic use exemption and the consequences of doping. Real Winner consists of nine interactive modules, ranging from five to ten minutes per module, plus an introduction module; the entire course can be completed in just over an hour.
