 COUNTY SLIGO SURF CLUB
County Sligo Surf Club was established in the early seventies at Strandhill by a number of local surfing enthusiasts to emulate the achievements of the legendary surfing pioneer Kevin Cavey. Little did they know from the humble rented portacabin on the seafront in years gone by that Co Sligo Surf Club would succeed as one of the many premier clubs located on the western seaboard. Today we are found in the impressive Maritime Centre overlooking this Atlantic beach break. The centre is testimony of the ISA development policy during the late nineties where it was envisaged that such facilities would be located around our shores. Club membership is open from January to December. Members can enjoy changing facilities, board storage, meeting and recreational use of the Philip Douglas Surf Room, with combined ISA membership. This will fulfil all the requirements of the novice and experienced local and visiting surfer.
